Dress Code

On the Course

· No denim wear.
· Gents – No shirts without sleeves, no tee shirts, but round/crew neck recognised golf shirts acceptable.
· Ladies – Collarless shirts/tops must have sleeves. Sleeveless shirts/tops must have collars.
· Smart, recognised golf attire will be accepted at all times.
· Only tailored shorts to be worn.
· Tailored shorts must be accompanied by wearing of socks.
· Predominately white ankle/training shoe sport socks are acceptable for both ladies and gentlemen.
· No trainers, track or sports shoes, other than golf shoes.
· No wearing of trousers inside socks, unless they are specifically designed for the purpose.
· Shirts should be worn inside trousers/shorts/skirts unless designed and shaped to be worn outside.
· Braces not to be exposed, to be covered by outer clothing.
· Paramilitary or camouflage style trousers, combat trousers (multiple pockets), cut-offs or tracksuits are strictly prohibited.
· Peak caps must be worn correctly and not back to front.


In the Clubhouse

· Smart casual wear including the wearing of smart jeans and trainers (no ripped or faded jeans).
· No track suits or waterproofs, but fleece type and windproof jackets may
be worn.
· No headgear of any type.
· Tee shirts, vests, sun tops and shirts designed for other sports are not
permitted, other than on a designated Club function.
· Smart casual dress is acceptable at all times in the Clubhouse unless
specifically stated – JACKET/TIE or CASUAL.
· Polo shirts and smart tailored shorts may be worn. However, combat/
cargo type shorts are not acceptable.
· Men’s footwear to be accompanied with socks, smart sandals acceptable, no flip flops.


To avoid any embarrassment, visitors and guests to the club should be aware of the dress code guidelines in effect at Retford Golf Club.

All members should ensure that their guests follow these rules.
